We are happy to announce that Monica Mazzone, an artist currently exhibiting at our Bologna headquarters in Sostanziale-Super-Sostanziale, a bi-personal with Mattia Barbieri, has been selected among the 13 finalists for the 10th Vaf-Stiftung Prize.
X EDITION VAF FOUNDATION AWARD 2024
The first stage of the 10th "VAF Foundation Prize" will be held at the Stadtgalerie in Kiel, Germany from June 15 to September 1, 2024. The Scientific Committee of the VAF Foundation has chosen the names of the 13 finalists for the exhibition: ADRIANO ANNINO, ANTONIO BARBIERI, CHIARA CALORE, VALENTINA DIENA, ROBERTO FANARI, DEBORA GARRITANI, TERESA GIANNICO, JACOPO GINANNESCHI, MONICA MAZZONE, ALESSANDRO NANNI, DAVIDE QUARTUCCI, MICHELE TAJARIOL, BEATRICE TAPONECCO.
A catalog, in a bilingual Italian and German edition, will be published on the occasion of the exhibition, documenting all the works on display. The German stage will be followed in the fall by an exhibition in a prestigious Italian museum venue, during which the award ceremony will be held.
The VAF Foundation, a non-profit foundation based in Frankfurt am Main, has as its main objective the task of promoting innovative positions of Italian art and making it known to the public through exhibitions and publications and through the awarding of a prize.
The prize, was established in 2003 for the purpose of promoting, in particular, the artistic and creative potential of artists under 40. Over the years, it has boasted numerous collaborations with prominent national and international exhibition venues, such as the Mart in Rovereto, the Museo della Permanente in Milan, the MACRO Testaccio in Rome, the Museo civico di Palazzo della Penna in Perugia, the Institut Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt, the Künstlerhaus in Graz and the Stadtgalerie in Kiel.
