ORDINARIO-UOMO-STRAORDINARIO

FINO AL 30 MAGGIO SU APPUNTAMENTO

Abstract From March 21 to May 11, Studio la Linea Verticale presents the exhibition "Sagitta. Ordinary-Man-Straordinary" solo exhibition by artist Michelangelo Galliani, curated by Maria Chiara Wang and with the collaboration of Alessandro Mescoli and Cris Contini Contemporary - London. Writes the curator, "SAGITTA is a synecdotal reference to Michelangelo Galliani's main work in the exhibition, a sculpture depicting St. Sebastian, a work in which while the arrow persists as an iconographic symbol of the Christian saint, it also becomes its element of discontinuity from tradition." The "Sagitta" indicates a direction that, despite the natural bends and unforeseen but momentary deviations of life, is aimed at a righteousness, in this case, vertical. The subtitle is the visual outline of the sagitta's path: man, as the central needle of the scales, has the power to follow one or the other direction, to go toward the ordinary or toward the extraordinary, and, depending on the reading, the sagitta leads to an evolution or a regression. The exhibition is part of the review "Dell'umana dimensione - arte e visioni contemporanee lungo la Via Emilia," a network exhibition project sponsored by the Emilia Romagna Region, the City of Piacenza, and the municipalities of Castelnuovo Rangone, Vignola and Pavullo nel Frignano. The exhibition is curated by Ricognizioni sull'Arte APS. Event details: Title: Sagitta.
